FAQ

We’ll continue to update this section when we receive questions.

Should we book flights now?

Yes, absolutely.

When should I book travel and accommodations?

July is high season in the south of France. Hotels should be booked by the end of March, and car rentals at the same time or latest in May or June.

Do we need to rent a car?

We recommend having your own transport in the Cote d’Azur if you are staying for more than 2-3 days. Unfortunately, there is minimal public transportation available in the Mougins area and Uber/Lyft do not operate in the south of France except from the airport. We will have buses from Mougins to the Chateau St Roseline on the day of the wedding.

Should I rent an automatic car?

Most cars available for hire in Europe are manual (a.k.a. stick-shift). If you’re uncomfortable driving ‘stick’ then reserve an automatic car early (2 months ahead) as they usually sell out. Alternatively, if you’re excited to hone your rally skills, there are plenty of hill climbs in the area to burn out some new clutches on a manual.

What should we wear?

BLACK TIE, KILTS and (Mad) HATS!

Black tie for the wedding and reception. This means dinner jacket/tuxedos for men (white jacket optional) and long dress (below the knee) for women. Kilts are both welcome and much appreciated. As we met at a Mad Hatter party at Burning Man, we request the favor of a hat, fascinator, headdress or headpiece so as to recreate the festive atmosphere that led to love at first sight!

Llama costumes and your wedding dress (if you’d like to re-wear it) also welcome, though American flag pants may draw stares in France.

Please note: We'll be outside for much of the wedding. Temperatures will be around 33C (92F) in the daytime and 23C (74F) at night.

Should we bring our kids?

The wedding reception and all of the events will be adults-only (e.g. the boat and golf days). We understand that it is a challenge for many to travel without children - but hope you’ll take the opportunity to enjoy a bit of alone time.

Can I bring a plus one?

As we have a strict capacity limitation from the venue, please check your invite for your +1 or contact us if unsure.

How do we get around?

Our recommendation is to hire a car, but you can also use Naveco to hire pre-booked taxis. Bear in mind, you would usually need to book a number of hours ahead.

Where can I get a Covid test?

You can get one at Nice Airport, you will need to book here: https://www.nice.aeroport.fr/en/services/shops/pharmacy
